We're bullish on African entrepreneurs and we believe a new generation of local GPs is best placed to back them. But starting a fund in Africa is hard. So we built Obuntu Foundation to be their support ecosystem — giving them the knowledge, community, and resources to launch and raise their first fund.

The Launchpad Fellowship

An invite-only Fellowship for first-time Emerging Fund Managers razor-focused on Africa. We select up to 15 Fellows per Class and support them across three core dimensions — everything they need to launch and accelerate their first fund.

📚
Knowledge
Exclusive masterclasses and fireside chats led by practitioners — GPs, LPs, lawyers, and operators who've built and backed funds across Africa. Content built for African fundraising realities, not imported from Silicon Valley.
🌍
Community
Fellows become lifetime members of the Obuntu Fellowship Community — a tight-knit, pan-African network of emerging GPs, Session Leads, and LP partners. The Fellowship has a start date. The Community doesn't have an end date.
🗂️
Resources
From LP pitch preparation and expert-led legal office hours to curated introductions and operational tools — the practical infrastructure that makes launching Fund I simpler and faster.

HOW IT WORKS

One year of support.
A community for a lifetime.

The Fellowship is invite-only and nomination-led. If you're an Emerging Fund Manager razor-focused on Africa, or know one who would be a great fit — we'd love to hear from you.
